Rich Tucker (RT): It is the intersection of the Cruise Industry and Social Media. So full of Cruise Advice with many articles advocating effective use of social media in the cruise industry. I monitor cruise pricing very closely for CruiseDeals.com, so I also write a lot of posts letting people know the best time to book different destinations.
DCSME: How did you pick the topic for CruiseSource.us?
RT: Cruising is the most social form of vacationing and it’s been my passion for the last 5 years. I started blogging 3 years ago and I fell in love with social media and Twitter. Being one of the first using social media in the cruise industry leads many of the articles to be Cruise + Social Media related. Due to being the chief dealfinder at CruiseDeals.com, many of my articles are real time advice on how to book the best deals.
DCSME: How is CruiseSource.us different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?
RT: It’s been a backstage pass to the cruise industry. I was the first blogger covering new cruise ship inaugurals, writing daily reviews from cruise ships, live tweeting from ships, etc. I’m always experimenting with social media in the cruise industry and I write about it on it CruiseSource.us.
I give my opinions on cruise pricing trends.
This expertise has lead to me being in Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, USA Today, ABCnews.com, and many other articles from major publications.
DCSME: What do you like most about blogging?
RT: I love having an outlet to share my thoughts and to teach others. It’s been life changing!
DCSME: How often do you update CruiseSource.us?
RT: 4 times per week – everyday while cruising.

RT: For those thinking about starting your blog, the three keys are commitment, consistency, and passion.
Write about something you are passionate about on a regular basis for long enough and you will build a successful blog.
