Blogger: Khadijah Z. Ali-Coleman

Khadijah Z. Ali-Coleman’s blog is on WordPress.

DC Social Media Examiner (DCSME): What is your blog about?

Khadijah Z. Ali-Coleman (KAC): is actually my website and portal to the various spaces online that I write for. I occasionally blog about topics that come up in the course of working with clients.

DCSME: How did you pick the topic for

KAC: I wanted a website that would also have content to attract visitors during searches. So, I thought a wordpress blog with features similar to a static website would be the best bet. The topics I cover are within the realm of the work I do as a writer who offers writing, online outreach and creative services to clients.

DCSME: How is different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?

KAC: My blog and my services are unique in that I have a boutique of services and range of skills that uniquely cater to my clients’ needs. I think my blog posts are honest, informative and indicative of the type of consultant I am when working with my clients.

DCSME: What do you like most about blogging?

KAC: I enjoy the different types of blogging out there. Many folks are only familiar with the idea of personal blogging– sharing personal memoirs and the like. But, there exists the opportunity to blog to share professional knowledge, showcase talent, earn money and network with others. I have been blogging since 2006 and still learn something new everyday about the potentials found in blogging.

DCSME: How often do you update

KAC: I update weekly. Other blogs I manage are updated more frequently or less regularly.

DCSME: What else would you like to share with readers of your profile?

KAC: I would like to share that I use WordPress and Blogger blogs as ways to memorialize projects I’ve worked on, as well as document works-in-progress. I currently am producing my play “Running:AMOK” and the play has its own space at I maintain all types of info there about the play. My play “Shades of Black” that I produced in 2008 is memorialized on a Blogger site, allowing folks to read about the play and it’s production– I kept a journal-like blog about the experience.
