DC Social Media Examiner (DCSME): What is your blog about?

Patrice (PW): This blog will capture my life as a jewelry designer. By trade, I’m a column writer, guest blogger for many, freelance business consultant, and a grassroots project starter. However, I’ve always been a lover of beautiful artistic jewelry and had a knack for creating. Designing jewelry began as a hobby and now it’s become a profitable way of living. I invite you to follow me on my journey in the world of jewelry design.

DCSME: How did you pick the topic for Jewelry by Patrice?

PW: For the past two years, I’ve been creating really unique funky statement pieces that cause a lot of attention in a positive, “Hey, can I buy that off of your neck type of way” (Yes, people have literally asked to buy pieces directly off of me). With this new found passion and the positive responses, I’ve decided to showcase my work to the world via my blog.

DCSME: How is Jewelry by Patrice different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?

PW: Yes. My blog follows my life as a jewelry designer. What sets my blog apart from others is that the pieces from my collection are handmade and designed by me. Through the blog and my website (www.handmadebypatrice.net)viewers will find a collection of handmade, show stopping accessories.

DCSME: What do you like most about blogging?

PW: I love writing and sharing my stories with a large audience.

DCSME: How often do you update Jewelry by Patrice?

PW: I update my blog weekly.

DCSME: What else would you like to share with readers of your profile?

PW: If you’re in the DC, MD or VA area, please be sure to follow me on Twitter at @flygirljewelry to be invited to my Spring 2011 trunk show. My fall trunk show was a huge success and I’m doing it again :)!
