Blog: LifeBliss Solutions
Lisa’s blog is self-hosted on WordPress.
DC Social Media Examiner (DCSME): What is your blog about?
Lisa (LB): Making healthy lifestyle changes that don’t feel like torture, but feel indulgent, but are still very effective. I discuss both helping others and also working on my own wellness challenges.
I write a lot about food because I’m a foodie. I love to include recipes and educate people about the morass of confusing and erroneous diet information floating around out there.
I try to be helpful but still a little bit entertaining. The purpose is to be understanding and nonjudgmental about our individual life choices.
DCSME: How did you pick the topic for LifeBliss Solutions?
LB: As a wellness coach, I saw a need to reach out to healthy lifestyle ‘moderates’ or people who are honest enough with themselves to admit that they are not willing to become raw vegans or run marathons in order to become a size 0.
My coaching business began as tantra instruction. Tantra is a practical yogic science, a way of life, and a world view (conceptual framework of ideas through which an individual interprets the world and interacts with it) which encompasses the full integration of mind (intellect), body (senses), and spirit (heart, connectedness to all of creation).
Tantra can be very esoteric so I merged it with my extensive study and knowledge of nutrition, fitness, Ayurveda, bellydance, and moving meditation. The result evolved into a more understandable and accessible concept: wellness. I provide the same information, but just changed the manner which I provide it. We experience wellness from a sensual perspective, rather than a clinical one.
DCSME: How is LifeBliss Solutions different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?
LB: Most wellness blogs have an authoritarian tone, and seem to have an all-or-nothing outlook. Either go on a strict diet and be obsessed with extreme (injury inducing) exercise or be fatter than a town bear.
LifeBliss Solutions gives options. Options for people who don’t want to be a size 0. Options for people who are not willing to do what it takes to be size 0. We focus on doing things that we enjoy, and are likely to continue for years and years to come. It’s a refreshing outlook because we help people to figure out what makes them happy and then implement an appropriate plan.
DCSME: What do you like most about blogging?
LB: I like the personal interaction with people whom I may never have met otherwise. I get to carry on conversations and friendships with people all over the world.
DCSME: How often do you update LifeBliss Solutions?
LB: I update my blog 1-3 times per week.
DCSME: What else would you like to share with readers of your profile?
LB: I am a person of many facets, and my writing reflects that. I am a proud mommy of one, poorly behaved wifey, certified tantra instructor and wellness coach, professional bellydancer, lawyer, foodie, damn fool actor, wild fun advocate, and sensual lifestyle goddess.
