Blog: Graduate Into The Real World
ChaChanna Simpson’s blog is on WordPress.com.
DC Social Media Examiner (DCSME): What is your blog about?
ChaChanna Simpson (CS): My blog is dedicated to helping twentysomethings and their parents adjust to life after college.
Topics I cover are on money, health, relationships, movtivation/goals, and career.
DCSME: How did you pick the topic for Graduate Into The Real World?
CS: When I graduated college, I was unsure of what to do to enter the real world. I was proficient in what I went to study but I was clueless about life skills. So, as I was finding out how to adjust to life after college I set out to document what I was learning and share it with other recent grads who were just as unsure.
DCSME: How is Graduate Into The Real World different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?
CS: My blog focuses on the details of life, such as getting an apartment, managing money, building healthy adult relationships. I regularly feature posts from experts in health, money, relationships and career. I also have a section for parents because their grad becoming an adult is a transition for them as well.
DCSME: What do you like most about blogging?
CS: I love that I am able to share what I have learned and have people add their comments. So, I guess I enjoy the community that a blog can develop.
DCSME: How often do you update Graduate Into The Real World?
CS: I update my blog five days a week, Monday thru Friday.
DCSME: What else would you like to share with readers of your profile?
CS: Yes, I will be venturing into video soon to add some new ways to connect with my visitors. I think bloggers should always try new ways to engage their readers. So, if you’ve been doing only videos, throw in a blog post every now and then. If you are solely blogging throw in video or audio post. It’s fun to add something new.
